We started LocalLaunch because we kept walking past brilliant local cafés, salons, pubs and shops that didn't show up online, loved by their regulars but invisible to anyone searching on a phone.

That's not fair on the businesses that make our towns worth living in. So we built a service that takes the whole problem off your plate, for less than the price of a dinner out. We're a small UK company, run by people who know what it's like to wear every hat at once.

How do updates work?

However you like. Sign into your dashboard and change the text, the colour theme, the photos, your opening hours or your contact details, and add or re-order sections: a menu, a booking link, whatever fits your business. Changes are live within minutes. There's nothing to install and no day-to-day upkeep for you; that stays with us.

How did you build a site for me before I signed up?

We find independent businesses that don't have a modern website and build a draft for them, using only public information about you (reviews, photos, hours from Google and similar). The site stays in preview mode, watermarked with our banner, until you claim it — and it's kept out of Google, so it never competes with your own listing. If you don't want it, the preview stays online until you claim it or ask us to remove it: one click does that, and we delete what we hold and never contact you again.

Can I make changes myself?

Yes, and none of it costs extra. Edit the copy on any section, switch the colour theme, swap the main photo, and add, hide or re-order whole sections. The hosting and upkeep stay on us; that's the whole point of the service. And the first draft is written from your real online presence (reviews, listings, your Google profile), so it already sounds like you, not a template. You're polishing rather than starting from a blank page.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, and it's included. Connect a domain you already own (like yourbusiness.co.uk) from your dashboard and we'll handle the DNS and the SSL certificate. You just need to own the domain; we don't buy it for you. Prefer not to? Your yourbusiness.locallaunch.uk address is perfectly good to share with customers, and you can change it once a month.

What does my £25 a month actually cover?

Everything. Hosting on UK infrastructure, SSL certificate renewal, daily security updates, backups, real-human email support, your own domain if you have one, and the dashboard where you change your words, theme, photos and sections. There is no premium tier, nothing to add on, and no surprise bills.

What happens to my site if I cancel?

It comes down. Your subdomain becomes available again and we delete your data within 30 days. You can re-claim later if you change your mind, but to be clear: this is a subscription service, not a one-off purchase.

Why is this so much cheaper than a freelance web designer?

Because the boring 80% (researching your business, writing first-draft copy, putting together a layout) is automated. We use that head-start to keep the price low. A bespoke freelance site can be brilliant; it just isn't realistic on every high street, and someone still has to keep it updated. We solve a different problem.

Who's behind LocalLaunch?
